New York – Oct 26, 2023 – GallopNYC leadership announces the addition of four accomplished professionals to their board of directors: Jean Luna Lau, David Salaverry, John D. Nichols and Corrine Snow. GallopNYC, a non-profit organization, is New York City's only PATH International therapeutic horsemanship program serving children and adults with disabilities and senior and military veteran communities with life-changing programs.

Jean Luna Lau
Jean Luna Lau is a managing director and team lead on the J.P. Morgan Managed Solutions team based in New York. In her role, she partners closely with investment teams to develop and execute engagement and communication strategies around J.P. Morgan's Global Wealth Management Investment Solutions, primarily focused on discretionary strategies.

Before her current role, she was co-head of the Alternative Investments Investor Relations Team, managing client engagement and communications for the platform's hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds. Prior to that, Lau worked in the Investment Bank on the Corporate FX and Interest Rates Derivatives Marketing desk, covering North American Corporates. Lau is a co-chair and founding member of the J.P. Morgan Asset and Wealth Management Asian Leadership Forum. She holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and international business from the Stern Undergraduate School of Business at New York University.

“When you meet the riders and families that GallopNYC has been able to help and hear about the tremendous impact and good that this small but mighty organization has made on their lives, it’s impossible not to be moved to want to help,” Lau said. “I hope to be able to contribute to GallopNYC’s mission and make a difference for those in need.”

David Salaverry
David Salaverry is a financial services executive with 25 years of experience, including 20 years at JPMorgan Chase across strategy, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer roles. Salaverry is currently the chief administrative officer for JPMorgan's Innovation Economy business in the Commercial Bank, leading the firm's efforts to scale its offerings to support the entire venture capital ecosystem globally and across the firm. Prior to this role, Salaverry was chief financial officer for JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Responsibility, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Morgan Health Functions, overseeing the firm's major ESG commitments and serving as treasurer and board member for the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. He has also served as chief financial officer for the U.S. Private Bank and head of strategy for the Corporate & Investment Bank at JPMorgan. Salaverry started his career as a strategy consultant with the Mitchell Madison Group, advising global financial services clients.

Salaverry holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and strategy from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in political economy from the University of California, Berkeley.

“As a New Yorker with two young boys, I wanted to help support an organization dedicated to improving the lives of New Yorkers and bringing together the amazing power of animals and nature to help do that - GallopNYC is doing all of this and more and I am proud to join this inspiring team,” Salaverry said.

Salaverry and Lau were both introduced to GallopNYC through BoardLead, a program that introduces executives from corporate and strategic partner networks to nonprofits with the goal of transforming governance in the social good sector.

John D. Nichols
John D. Nichols is a media professional by trade and a longtime equestrian with a deep appreciation for the power horses have on people’s lives. As a child growing up riding in eastern North Carolina, Nichols learned early on how being around horses can instill a sense of purpose and responsibility, soothe and even heal the spirit. At East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, he spent a semester volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding organization, helping the instructors with the new riders.

Since moving to New York in 2002, Nichols spent 21 years working with MSNBC, producing news programs, breaking news and working with media, communications and marketing professionals to create top-rated content. Now, as a board member, he hopes to bring those skills to tell the amazing story of GallopNYC.

Corinne Snow
Corinne Snow is a counsel in the Environment and Natural Resources group at Vinson & Elkins. She previously served as counsel and chief of staff in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Snow received her Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She is a lifelong horse lover and former show jumper who enjoys playing in the pasture with her retired horses.

"I've seen firsthand the incredible healing effect that horses can have on people and the joy and peace that come from being around them," Snow said. "I'm excited to help GallopNYC find ways to share that experience with the City's children, adults, seniors and, in particular, the veterans who have made such incredible sacrifices for us."

Lau, Salaverry, Nichols and Snow were all voted onto the GallopNYC Board of Directors in August of 2023 and joined 13 other members bringing the organization's board to 17 members.

"I am thrilled to welcome four exceptional new members to our committed and talented board of directors, led by Constance Hunter. Each brings a wealth of expertise and professional credentials to GallopNYC',” said Alicia Kershaw, GallopNYC founder and chair of the board development committee. “Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to our mission will drive positive change and strengthen our organization's impact."
