New York - May 23, 2025—On Sunday, May 18, GallopNYC brought life to Central Park’s historic bridle path with its annual Central Park Promenade. GallopNYC's horses, riders, families, and supporters converged near the Stonearch Bridge. The event celebrated GallopNYC's services: providing therapeutic horsemanship to New Yorkers with disabilities, including children, older adults, veterans, and first responders.

"Few days capture the spirit of GallopNYC quite like this one," said GallopNYC Executive Director Jennie Bucove. "This year’s Central Park Promenade reminded us how impactful our work can be—especially when shared so openly with the wider New York community."

GallopNYC riders and supporters rode along the historic bridle path, accompanied by a joyful crowd of volunteers, instructors, and community members. The event not only showcased the powerful connection between horse and rider, but also invited families from across the city to engage with GallopNYC’s work in a fun and inclusive setting.

"With perfect weather, joyful families, and the unmistakable energy of New York all around us, the 2025 event was a celebration of community, inclusion, and the transformative power of horses," Bucove said. "From arts and crafts to the thrill of riding in one of the world’s most iconic parks, it was a day that reminded us why our work matters—and how deeply it resonates with children and families across the city."

At the heart of the event was a vibrant family activity zone, where staff and volunteers offered hands-on experiences designed for all ages. A highlight was the “sensory buffet”—a station where visitors could see, touch, and smell objects from the barn, providing a unique, multi-sensory introduction to the equine world. Children and families interacted with GallopNYC horses and team members, and explored the many ways therapeutic riding supports emotional and physical well-being.

This event marked the beginning of a busy and inspiring season for GallopNYC. Upcoming highlights include Summer Camp at Sunrise Stables, June 30-August. 29 and the GallopNYC 10th Annual Barn Dance at Current at Chelsea Piers on Oct. 15.
